Bought in 2021 by our client, DS Properties, Cityside has undergone major refurbishment with a renewed focus on leisure, cementing its position as one of Northern Ireland’s leading retail and leisure parks. Cityside provides a unique blend of aspirational retail and catering mix as well as innovative leisure experiences. Cityside comprises Movie House Cinema, Black Axe Throwing, Funky Monkey, Virtual Reality City X, Lost City Indoor Golf, Galaxy Bingo Hall and many well known national retail stores and casual eateries. In addition to the Planned Preventative Maintenance Consultancy that Johnston Houston provides to the client’s asset management team, we are providing project consultancy services and leading a multidisciplinary design team for a phased refurbishment of the shopping mall and retail layout. Johnston Houston is currently leading  feasibility studies into modifications to both the mall and internal retail store layouts as well as the creation of fast food pods within the existing car park. We are expecting to continue our collaboration with the owners and their asset managers going forward to optimize the performance of this property asset through forward thinking and practical planning.
