Scottish Mutual building sits on Donegall Square at the very heart of Belfast City Centre as a Grade B1 listed building. This iconic building was built in 1904, designed in a classic baronial style design using Dumfries stone.
Johnston Houston received instructions in September 2018 to provide a detailed façade condition survey of the former Scottish Mutual Building which is currently being renovated and converted into George Best Hotel by Signature Living. The purpose of this façade condition survey is to support discharge of Planning Conditions imposed by Belfast City Council. Our work involved a team of Building Surveyors completing a detailed façade assessment of all masonry components to all elevations including sandstone, brickwork and pointing.
Johnston Houston is pleased to support Signature Living in the restoration, refurbishment and conversion of this previously vacant iconic building in Belfast City Centre.
